I'm currently looking into getting a used Suzuki as a reliable daily, but I'm torn between three very different options: the Wagon R, the Ignis, and the Grand Vitara. It’s a bit of a weird mix, I know, but they each have their perks.
I found a discussion on Reddit where someone was weighing up these exact models (you can check the thread here: https://reddit.com/r/CarTalkUK/comments/1qx0uys/suzuki_wagon_r_vs_ignis_vs_grand_vitara /" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-hveid="0" data-ved="0CAAQ_4QMahgKEwjzws6WssOSAxUAAAAAHQAAAAAQlwI">reddit.com/r/CarTalkUK/comments/1qx0uys/suzuki_wagon_r_vs_ignis_vs_grand_vitara/).
The Wagon R seems like the ultimate budget box for city driving, the Ignis has that cool retro-modern vibe and better fuel economy, and the Grand Vitara is obviously the tank of the group if I want to do any light off-roading.
For those of you who have owned any of these: which one actually holds up best in terms of maintenance costs and "cheap thrills"? Is the Grand Vitara overkill if I spend 90% of my time on tarmac?
